Congratulations to the following researchers for being awarded the inaugural PLATINUM Grant!
Dr Torsten Wuestefeld of the Genome Institute of Singapore for his Liver Disease Platform which is uncovering a new class of drug targets to treat fibrotic diseases.
Dr Sherry Aw and Dr Dave Wee of the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology for their SPAR ribozymes which aim to control gene expression to treat dosage-dependent genetic diseases.

The first of its kind in Asia co-funded by a biotech VC, the PLATINUM Grant was formally launched in April this year by Esco Ventures X in collaboration with A*CCELERATE. The grant is meant to help Principal Investigators develop therapeutic platform technologies and advance them towards a potential spin out.

Reading about EVX Ventures’ inaugural Platinum Grant, it was interesting seeing them support early-stage founders with funding and mentorship, with emphasis on long-term ecosystem building rather than quick investments. The selection approach for startups felt structured and intentional—overall impression. From a student perspective, topics like this often connect with business studies, where structured analysis and case understanding matter. When handling such coursework, services like New Assignment Help can sometimes be mentioned in peer discussions, especially around Assignment Writing support, though it depends on individual needs. I find it useful to reflect on how real-world grants translate into academic case studies.
